Reliance United Methodist Church is nestled in the Northern Shenandoah Valley bounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the Appalachian and Allegheny Plateaus to the west. We are located in a rural part of Warren County, Virginia on route 627 just east of Middletown. While rural, the church is convenient to both I-81 and I-66 via Route 522 and can be easily accessed from Winchester, Front Royal, Middletown and Stephens City.
Originally part of the United Brethren in Christ, the church was founded in 1840. Its alliance charter was issued in 1904. After a fire in 1887, the Church was completely rebuilt in 1897. The activity building was added in 1950. Additions and updates have been added throughout the years.
Reliance United Methodist Church is traditional; honoring its past as well as its heritage.
Music is very important to the life of the church and it has been blessed with an accomplished pianist as well as an active choir.
The church is made up of a financially and culturally homogenous membership. A strong core of persons faithfully attends every church activity. Creating a “Church Family” with a supportive pastoral embrace for each and every member of the congregation is a significant and central core value held by the Church.
